Workshop 1 (paper folding and scoring)

To start off our brief, our first workshop introduced us to paper folding and scoring to create unique shapes out of a simple piece of paper. My favourite one was the 'snake' shape that could also look like and 8 or a &!

We then had to make some logo's look 3D so I chose the subway 'S'.

I made the S longer on each side to make it stand up a bit from the table, however with a bit more work I think I could make it look even better.

Curated By Narratives

I really enjoyed the Curated By Event, despite not being able to stay for Erik Kessels it was a good experience.

It started off with Morag Myerscough. I particularly enjoyed her typographic work and she said, "design for you, not for for other people" which really made me think about me and my style of work. Next came Jack Schulze which I was completely inspired by. I'm not normally keen on technical products but his work is definitely worth checking it out! His talk was probably my favourite out of the three that I saw. Next on was Johnny Kelly. Safe to say his talk was controversial but very interesting and I'm really glad I stayed and watched his talk.

I think this product from Berg (Jack Schulze) was my favourite thing I saw at the event. It's a completely new idea and I'd love to get my hands on one of these. (Disappointed I won't at the ridiculous price tag!)
